For the comparison of protein binding pockets we successfully cooperate with the AG Klebe at the Institute for Pharmaceutical Chemistry of the University of Marburg. In the AG Klebe the database Cavbase has been developed, which currently contains more than 90000 binding pockets. The project of comparing binding pockets is based on this database. The results obtained are evaluated together with the Klebe group with regard to their biological or pharmaceutical significance and the algorithms developed are validated on this background.
In the field of sports medicine we successfully cooperate with the Institute of Sports Science and Motology, University of Marburg. The analysis of muscle activation during complex movements revealed temporal patterns from multivariate measurement data that explain movement sequences. Another research area is the linear and non-linear time series analysis of heart rhythm signals.
